On a chilly late-September afternoon, I met Carrie and Daniel at Black Butte Ranch in Central Oregon for their wedding celebration.  Black Butte is one of my favorite venues in Oregon, with its wild landscape, lakeside ceremony spot under the birch trees, mountain views, and cozy feel.

The weather changed over and over during the day, going from sunny and windy, to rain, to exquisite fog, back to sun, and finally into a vibrant sunset.  The golden grasses of late summer and early fall looked so beautiful with the evergreens and silvery grays of the surrounding landscape.  Carrie and Daniel chose the perfect colors for their flowers and accents, pulling in rich autumn warmth.  Once the rain blew over, I loved seeing the guests cozied up outside for the ceremony in their jackets and hats, cuddling coffee and tea in their hands.

Small, intimate, relaxed weddings like this utterly enchant me.  Carrie and Daniel had so much time to enjoy their family and friends, chatting and laughing and dancing and snuggling by the fire.  They all spent several days at the Ranch surrounding the wedding, enjoying outdoor adventures and each other's company.
