Lauren & Paul's wedding at the Miller Farm Retreat in Parkdale / Hood River was elegant, comfortable and full of outdoor beauty. I loved everything about it. The towering trees provided a beautiful canopy for the evening meal, and the treehouse was the perfect after-wedding getaway for the bride and groom (I love how Mt. Hood hovers over the orchard view).
Read MoreFamily dynamics at weddings can be really tough. Nathan and I struggled with etiquette and personalities and who to invite and such, and then the deeper things. I regularly talk to my couples as they face all this, too. Every family is so different: closely-knit, big, small, struggling parents, divorces, estrangements, new marriages, 50+-year marriages, huge happy sibling packs, sister drama, brothers who hug, cousins closer than sisters... I love it. It's humanity. There really is no "normal", which I appreciate.

Just look at Isaac's face as he sees Amy for the first time as she walks down the aisle, and her response with the "I love you" sign. I adored their families and friends--truly an amazing community of fun and loving folk.
