Justin flew Kailee up to Portland from California on a surprise vacation. Little did she know that he had completely orchestrated a proposal on the rooftop of the Nines, complete with photographer lurking "casually" behind a column. I'm sure he was more nervous than I was, but when I saw them coming down the hallway, I started grinning and shaking like a leaf!

This time of year, the rooftop at the Departure restaurant is closed. They were nice enough to make an exception for Justin once they heard about his plan, so we had it all to ourselves. He led her out to the beautiful view of Portland's rooftops at sunset, dropped on one knee and asked her to marry him. The look on her face was absolutely fantastic, and she couldn't stop giggling. I don't get to see this very often, and it was a blast to share in the excitement.

Two days later, before they flew back to California, we did their full engagement session on the Portland waterfront with a small trip to Old Town.
