Happily Ever After: Megan & John's Pepper Plantation Wedding in Charleston, South Carolina
Megan and John's wedding day started at a pretty little beach house in Folly Beach, South Carolina. There is something so wonderful about waking up beside the ocean on the day you're getting married. Megan and her ladies went to Lava Salon in Charleston for a little bridal pampering, and the groom got a fabulous shave. I had to giggle watching Megan's son reading "Girls are Weirdos" while waiting for the adults.
I loved Megan's choice of Fluevog boots for her wedding shoes. Not only are they absurdly comfortable, they're absolutely gorgeous.
On the way to the ceremony, we stopped at the approximately 400-year-old Angel Oak tree. Wow. Despite growing up around huge trees and seeing the spruce trees by Yosemite, I've never seen anything like this beautiful sprawling oak.
The ceremony and reception took place at The Pepper Plantation's beautiful pavilion which overlooks a lake. The blue sky and wavy clouds looked fantastic for the ceremony and faded into a golden autumn evening.
They served many kinds of gorgeous pie instead of cake, and their Caricature Artist was a complete hit with the guests. I loved the warm and bright colors everywhere. At the end of the reception, Megan and JK drove off in a beautiful antique Dodge car. Such a beautiful night!
