Trip Report: Friday at Mt. Rainier
A couple of weeks ago, I had a day set aside just to visit Mt. Rainier. It's a crazy time of year and it can be hard to put down work and run away for a day, but I'm so glad I did. I needed lakes, mountains, forests, rivers, and a long drive with two wonderful women.
Jennifer and Sarah are both clients that have become friends: Jen had a baby several months ago, and Sarah just got married in August at Edgefield. When I announced my intentions to run way on this adventure, they both signed up. I'm so glad they did. They were the BEST travel partners.
We visited Comet Falls, the treasure at the top of a 1.75 mile hike with a 1400' elevation gain through the forest. We stopped for views of the mountain at the Reflection Lakes and some scenic pullouts. We poked at mushrooms and moss and pretty little forested bits. We roamed through the fields of Paradise Meadows, then finished the evening at Paradise Lodge for dinner. The weather was amazing all day, and even though we couldn't see Rainier for many parts of it, she came out many times to say hi.
Here are some photos from our adventures. I hope you can join us next time!
