On New Year's Day, I had an absolutely unforgettable adventure with these two newlyweds out on the wild, just-south-of-Melbourne Australian coastline. I couldn't have been more excited--I'd been looking forward to this for months. It was warm and windy and gorgeous, and easily a highlight of my trip to the other side of the world. Kate & John were married the evening before in Melbourne. You'll see photos from their fab NYE wedding day soon, but I wanted to start with this magical excursion.

Kate's father, Mike, is also a photographer, and he cheerfully took on the role of scout and production assistant for this session. He found these beaches for us to visit, and I couldn't have been happier--the textures and scenery were the perfect backdrop, and a jaw-dropping introduction for me to Australia's amazing coastline. He also helped juggle veils and equipment. Mike, you're hired.

Day-after sessions are always a treat for me. We get to explore, play, and have an adventure with no specific timeline. We get to go places we'd never have time for on a wedding day. Knee-deep in the ocean, looking at Kate & John, I couldn't stop smiling. They're both such beautiful people, inside and out, and it was such a blast to adventure with them.
