Happily Ever After: April & Nick's Tiny Wedding at Cape Kiwanda
Two landscape photographers getting married = yes please!
April & Nick met on Instagram. He lived in England, she in the States. They fell in love. Both are accomplished landscape photographers (check them out here and here). When sat down for coffee on a rainy afternoon and talked about their plans for a tiny wedding in November at Cape Kiwanda (one of my favorite places in Oregon), I was so excited. It's always so good to meet your people, and it's such an incredible delight to photograph weddings for other nature photographers.
Prepped for rain and cold, imagine the utter state of confusion when Oregon delivered a warm, sunny, very-slightly-breezy, late-November day. I met them at a beach house in Pacific City, where they later hosted a small reception before heading to dinner at the Pelican Pub & Brewery. The sky was SO blue, the moon was out, and I've been colder in August at the beach than I was that day. April wore a beautiful BHLDN dress, Sorel boots, and a pretty wintery wrap. Nick looked dapper in his suit jacket and jeans. We arranged their first look up on on a wooden deck overlooking the beach, and I loved Nick's face as he saw April in her dress for the first time. Their small gathering of friends and family gathered on the sunny dune as April & Nick said their vows to each other, and we ran off down the beach before sunset for photographs. And some extra-nerdy photographer images that I adore (note the hose divided--Canon for her, Nikon for him).
Much love to these two! And an extra-special pre-welcome to their little one, due later this year!
